Not every retailer offers free two-day shipping as promised by Amazon, yet shoppers can score free shipping at many retailers, including Target. In fact, Target has several free delivery options. Spending over a certain amount of money, using your Target RedCard, or taking advantage of free in-store or curbside pickup options will save you shipping fees. Target is also one of the stores that offer same-day delivery through Shipt’s paid membership. Here’s how to get free shipping at Target.
Spend $35 or More on a Target order
While it’s not unusual for retailers to offer free shipping on orders over a certain dollar amount, Target has a particularly generous threshold of just $35. Once you reach that threshold, you’ll receive free standard shipping on your order. In addition, thousands of items on Target's website are eligible for free two-day shipping. All eligible items will be noted on the product detail page, in your cart, and at check out.
Use a Target RedCard
There are plenty of perks that come along with a Target RedCard, including 5% off of every Target purchase, an additional 30 days to make returns, 5% off specialty gift cards, and, you guessed it, free shipping on most items on Target’s website regardless of how much you spend. There’s no annual fee associated with the card, and, if you want the perks of being a RedCard cardholder, but don’t want to apply for a credit card, you can get a RedCard debit card that links to your existing checking account.
Select “Free In-Store Pick Up”
Rather than pay for items to be shipped directly to your home, you can have your order shopped by Target’s associates at your local Target store and then you can pick it up at no extra cost. Using this service is easy. Simply choose your local store on Target’s website or app, and shop order pickup eligible items. Once Target notifies you that your order is ready, head to guest services to pick it up. If you don’t want to get out of your car, you can switch to Target’s curbside pickup option instead. Once your order is ready, open your Target app and switch to Target’s Drive Up option. When you get to the store, simply park in the Drive-Up area and let Target know you’re there via the app. An employee will bring out your order and even load it into your car at no additional cost.
Use Your Shipt Membership
If you’d rather get your orders right away and don’t mind paying a little bit more, then a Shipt membership could be for you. For $99 a year, you can get unlimited same-day delivery for orders $35 and up. You’ll be able to shop Target’s website or the Target app, select same-day delivery, and schedule your delivery time at checkout. A personal shopper will put your order together and deliver it to your home or business. Shipt shoppers can even deliver a gift to a friend. The shoppers reach out via text message if they have any questions or find that an item is out of stock, and you can even text your shopper last-minute requests.
Use Promo Codes
Scouring the internet for a promo code that actually works can oftentimes be a pain with little to no gain. However, finding a Target coupon is actually pretty easy if you know where to look. Our Target coupon page has plenty of promo codes and coupons that will save you money across all shopping categories. And yes, you’ll even find deals for free shipping.
