This year, Amazon Prime Day takes place on July 12 and 13. Like past years, expect to see discounts on thousands of items; from household appliances and clothing to electronics like laptops, e-readers, and TVs. Amazon’s own electronic devices and house brands, like Kindles, Fire tablets, and Amazon Essentials clothing, will also be discounted.

To take advantage of top Amazon Prime Day deals, you’ll need to be a Prime member, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 for an annual membership. Don’t feel like committing to a membership just yet? Sign up for a free 30-day Prime trial and you’ll be eligible to shop all deals during Prime Day 2022. You’re eligible for the free trial as long as you haven’t had an Amazon Prime membership in the last 12 months. It’s worth noting the free trial requires you to submit payment information and you will automatically be charged the Prime fee of $14.99 per month unless you cancel before the 30-day trial period is over.

When it comes to laptop deals, expect to see price drops on Windows computers, Chromebooks, and gaming laptops. Before shopping for laptop deals on Prime Day, check out our guide to the Best Laptops of 2023.

Tips for Finding the Best Amazon Prime Day Laptop Deals

With thousands of items on sale during Amazon Prime Day, scrolling through the entire sale would take some serious time and dedication. To make things easier, here are a few tips to find the best Prime Day deals:

  • Search for your desired product in a Google Shopping tab.
  • On Amazon, click the “Follow” button on brands whose deals you’re interested in seeing.
  • Start browsing and comparing prices before Prime Day, as some deals begin early as part of a pre-Prime Day sale.
  • Create sale notifications in the Amazon mobile app by going into your account and then scrolling down to “Deal Alerts.” Setting these up will send automatic messages to you when something you’re interested in goes on sale.
  • Check out the price-tracking site CamelCamelCamel, which monitors the price of millions of products on Amazon, so you can be sure the Prime Day price is a good deal.

Additionally, Amazon competitors like Target, Best Buy, and Walmart often run their own sales to match or sometimes beat Amazon prices. Before clicking the “buy” button on Amazon, it’s worth checking other retailers to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible. Keep in mind that your Prime membership comes with free shipping for many items, whereas you might be on the hook for shipping fees with other retailers. It’s also smart to compare return policies and any included tech support when buying a new laptop.

Like any online purchase, be wary of fake reviews. Since buying a laptop is an investment and typically costs upward of $300, it’s wise to only rely on reviews from sites you trust and can verify.
