The holiday shopping season enters with a flurry of sales on Black Friday, which is today, Nov. 25, this year. As more Americans are cutting back on spending as inflation rises, 52% of shoppers we recently surveyed said they plan to spend less this holiday season compared to last year. Our Inflation Shopping Habits survey also showed that U.S. adults rank Black Friday as the No. 1 day for online shopping, followed by Amazon Prime Day in July, and Cyber Monday, which is Nov. 28 this year.

If you plan to shop from the comfort of your home today, you're in good company. We’re scanning for the best Black Friday deals to help you get the best-value deals out there this holiday season.

Target is one of the largest retailers offering great Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. If you’re shopping sales this year, be sure to check out Target as well as Walmart’s Black Friday deals, Best Buy’s Black Friday deals, and Amazon’s Black Friday deals.

This year Target rolled out its Black Friday sales seven weeks early with Weeklong Black Friday Deals starting in early October and extending through this weekend. Target also once again is offering Deal of the Day sales through Dec. 24 featuring pricing similar to Black Friday discounts. Target’s Black Friday sales are available both online and at Target’s brick-and-mortar locations.

While Black Friday sales are known to sell out, it can also be worthwhile to shop around. Many stores like Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, and Target offer the same items at similar prices, but shipping times and charges can vary among retailers.

Deals To Shop

Target’s Black Friday deals are covering some of this year’s hot holiday gifts for your family and friends or if you’re looking to treat yourself. Being a major retailer that covers numerous product categories, some shoppers will find Target’s Black Friday deals to be a one-stop shopping experience for all holiday purchases. Here are some of the items we’re keeping an eye on when it comes to shopping at Target on Black Friday, both online and in-store. Keep in mind if you’re looking for something specific and don’t see it as part of the retailer’s Black Friday sales, check back for its Cyber Monday deals.

For the home: Last year Target offered great Black Friday deals on home appliances and we're seeing similar top buys to go on sale again this year. Small home appliances like air fryers were popular sale items in 2021 as were robot vacuums and stick vacuums. Target also had the Google Nest Thermostat on sale as well as several coffee machines, the Instant Pot, and a Vitamix Blender. Shoppers can score great deals on air purifiers at Target this holiday season. For the home this year, Target’s Black Friday deals have included significant savings on coffee makers as well as hundreds of dollars off robot vacuums.

For entertainment: Target sells everything from gaming consoles to e-readers to board games, and many are part of Target’s Black Friday sales, and will be for its Cyber Monday sales. Some products on sale this year have included 15% off popular doll brands, 15% off VTech toys, as well as a buy two, get one free offer for select video games, games, books, activities, and puzzles.

Electronics: Target has plenty on sale this year including Beats headphones, Meta Quest VR sets, the Nintendo Switch, Apple AirPods, and the Apple Watch. TVs are another popular Black Friday sale item and Target again has them on sale this year. In our Holiday Shopping Survey, respondents noted that TVs, smartphones, video gaming products, and computers are items they’ll be looking to buy during Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Target’s Black Friday deals have featured $200 off Beats headphones, hundreds of dollars off 4K TVs, and deep savings on Chromebooks and other laptops.

Target Black Friday Shipping and Return Policies

As some retailers are still dealing with shipping delays and supply issues, it’s a good idea to take advantage of Black Friday sales instead of waiting until later in the season to shop. It’s also worth reading the fine print when it comes to the shipping and return policies. Both of these change at Target as we head into the holiday gift-giving season. Here’s what to expect with Target’s Black Friday shipping and return policy.

Target typically offers free shipping on qualifying orders over $35, but this changes with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Target notes that shipping times can vary when order volume is high which is likely to be the case during Target’s Black Friday sales. Most orders over $35 ship for free and are delivered in three to five business days once they ship. Like many retailers, your Target order might ship in several boxes and even arrive on different days.

Target RedCard holders sometimes can get free shipping on orders, and RedCard shoppers might also qualify for free two-day shipping on some items.

If you don’t feel like waiting for your order to arrive on your doorstep, Target offers an Order Pickup option for some items. All eligible items are labeled on the Target website or in the app. To collect your order, you’ll need to head inside the store or use the Target app to select the Drive Up option for curbside delivery.

Just like last year, Target is offering a price-match guarantee for gifts purchased during the holidays. Target’s standard price-match policy applies to items purchased within the previous 14 days, but the retailer has again extended this. Any items purchased between Oct. 6 and Dec. 24 this year are eligible for a price adjustment should Target offer the item for less anytime on or before Dec. 24. This allows shoppers to get the best price possible on gifts purchased long before Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales officially start at other retailers.

Target also is again altering its return window for the holidays. This year, Target is extending its return window on electronics and entertainment items purchased between Oct. 6 and Dec. 25. The return window for those items is Dec. 26 through Jan. 24, 2023. Dec. 26 is also the start date for the 15-day return period for Apple products (excluding phones) and the 14-day window for mobile phones. Most other items are covered under Target’s 90-day return policy, which extends to 120 days for RedCard holders.
